Artist's Comments

There was a relationship between cubism and time, and I've tried to capture it as best as I can to tell a story. I did my best to capture the motion of wrinkled bedsheets in the seemingly random forms. If you look closely, you'll also see toes, and legs, and other associated body parts. Think about the beginning, middle, and end of a moving relationship, and the longing feelings that come from the persisting memory of a special person.

This is the couple from The Timeless Godwottery. There she was portrayed as closely to the Romanticism tradition as I could muster, and here you see a representation of the same story in Cubism.

----

I'm assuming cubism goes under Abstract Art in this new category system DA is using. What a HORRENDOUS task it must be for them to pigeon hole the millions of artworks that come their way!

No, really, I feel your pain guys. I felt it when I tried to find a place for a genuine Cubist painting. There's no place for Cubism here. *sticky smile* The system just pretends that 100 years of art history didn't even happen.

Abstract. What the hell.

I think this is my newest favorite of yours. It's great to see you continuing to explore your talent.

Looking forward to the next one!

Thanks so much! I'm glad you frequent my gallery.

Why is it your new favorite?

Hm... well, the art is good, but ya know what, a big part of it is probably also the title.... When it starts with a title like that, I can read so much emotion into a picture ^^;

great stuff! I'm amazed not more people have commented on this! It reminds me of DuChamp's "Nude Descending a Staircase" of course, but I like your style used here. The last "scene" is quite brilliant where you have the couple in bed together but facing away from each other, so the love is ended or grown cold in a long marriage? That's just at first glance, but at second glance, I see there are more optimistic views as well.

Thanks so much! I was really unsure wether I could do this style or not. Thankfully my message came across well.
